Fine motor

We practise our fine motor skills every morning to help to develop our muscles in our hands and to get us ready for writing.

If you have Playdough at home, can you make the shapes of some of the letters we have learnt so far? If you would like to use them, I have saved some Playdough mats below. You could print off the letter you want to practise. Tip: put the sheet in a plastic wallet, then you can use it again!

Or, if you have some outside space, the children can "paint" on the floor with water. This is good for refining large movements as well as small! See photo below for examples.

Alternatively, you could choose your own activity from the 'Fine motor skills at home' document on the Reception Remote Learning page.

Phonics

Today's new sound is 'c', like in cat. This sound is often found at the beginning of words.

Watch my video. Can you join in? How many sounds can you remember? Can blend the words back together when I sound them out? Keep practising!

Watch Geraldine and then have a go at the 'c' worksheet.

The game today is 'Match'. Print the cards off (below) and cut them up individually. You could make your own. Sound out each word with and adult to help you. Can you match it to the correct picture?

Physical activity

It's really important to keep active, even when you're at home. During this time you can do any activity you would like to at home- go for a walk, play in the garden, do some dancing at home... anything you like!

If you would like some ideas, have a look at the videos on the link below.

Maths

Today we are continuing with our learning about repeating patterns. We are going to make patterns with different shapes.

Join the call, then have a go at the activity below. If you're feeling really creative, you could make fruit kebabs and make a pattern with the fruit on the skewer!

Music
