We have just been to Le Touquet market and have purchased some quality merchandise....very Gucci as Year 6 would say.
We have been lucky with the weather and are now enjoying the beach ..........Charlie and Joseph don't like sand!
Off to the snail farm next....
We have visited a snail farm and who knew that snails could be so interesting! Mallory did a fantastic job of translating the snail farmer' s information.
Some of us had snails on the face as well as having them eat on our hands. Then it was time for EATING the snails.....in garlic, with feta and with paprika. Milly ate five!
After an early start we headed to Ypres for a day of WW1 history. We have visited ‘In Flanders Field Museum’, which Grace said she enjoyed the interactive information about the Great War. Benjamin said, ‘ I enjoyed the soldiers talking about the Christmas Truce.’
We visited Essex Farm Cemetery in which John McCrae is buried. He worked as a medic. After studying the poem, 'In Flanders Field,‘ it was very interesting to see the bunker in which John McCrae worked as a medic.
In the afternoon we visited Passchendale Museum, which, according to Lara, is ‘The best museum ever!’ We were able to experience life in a bunker and trench for a very short period of time.
Finally we celebrated Amy’s birthday with an ice cream birthday cake!
We have arrived in France and the sun was shining.
We have enjoyed seeing jellyfish, sharks and......the shop at Nausicaa.
Everyone agreed it was a fabulous day.
We then arrived at the château tired and hungry but not so tired that we fell asleep before 11.30pm!
Looking forward to tomorrow.
