Leavers' Mass 2024
On Thursday 18th July, Fr. Charles celebrated our Leavers' Mass at school. He gave a wonderful sermon, linking it to the recent production of Bugsy Malone, saying' You'll always be remembered for things that we say and do'.
Our leavers were all presented with a Sacred Heart medal and the Irish Blessing.
First Holy Communion Celebration
On Wednesday 5th June, we had a whole school Mass to celebrate our children who have recently made their First Holy Communion.
The children sang beautifully , especially, 'I Have Called You by Your Name'.
Each child received a Tau, which carries with it all of the symbolism of the Cross of Christ as well as St.Francis’ ideal of life and dream for himself and his followers.
Afterwards, all the class enjoyed a lovely Holy Communion cupcake, made by our cooks.
Crowning of Mary
We had a wonderful Crowning of Mary Procession on Thursday 23rd May.
Mary is the mother of God and we must honour Her as we honour our own mother. Mary gave birth to Jesus, who saved the world from sin.
Mary is the mother of God and She is always free to listen to our prayers of help, praise, thanks and sorrow.
Mary went through many tough times, but we need to know that life is like a long path. The path is never straight, there will be ups and downs, holes and diversions but the only thing about life that doesn’t change is our love and faith in God.
Mary is always looking down on us, she loves us as much as we love her, she treats her as if we were her own and she loves us as if we were her own. Mary to us Christians is like having a second Mother. The mother that lives in heaven watching as we grow. In this month of May we commemorate this month because of all she has done for us.

Pentecost Party 2024
We had a wonderful Mass and singing and our Pentecost Party this year. After Mass, each class chose a song to sing about the Holy Spirit. We loved coming to school wearing colours of flame.
On Thursday 21st march, Years 3 and 4 shared a Seder Meal together. making connections between the Passover and The Last Supper. Fr. Charles attended and washed the feet of our children who are making their First Holy Communion this year.
This is what Eva had to say:
On Thursday afternoon, Year 3 and Year 4 had a Seder meal. The Seder meal represents all sorts of feelings and events from the Exodus - whether bitter or scared. For example, the lamb bone represents the lamb they sacrificed. The Hebrews had to paint the blood of a lamb on their doors so the angel of death would know that’s a Hebrew house. We tried different foods and drinks. The horseradish represents the bitterness of slavery. Because they didn’t have time to let the bread rise Moses made bread without yeast. Bread without yeast is called Matzoh. I was the youngest so I had to ask four questions which other children answered.

On March 26th Years 3 and 4 celebrated a Seder Meal with Fr. John.
This was a good way to reflect on the events of Holy Week. Fr.John also washed the feet of the children who are to make their First Holy Communion.
On Thursday 10th May the whole school celebrated Ascension Mass. We also celebrated our children who have made their First Holy Communion this year.
This year is extra special as we have a statue of Our Lady in the prayer garden and used this special occasion to crown her with flowers.
